Low capital costs / high opex costs were highlighted as a problem in E4tech's review of the Redpoint/CCC best of biomass model, and hence will have been revised by CCC. Redpoint's model states that: * Capex has a "negligble value as currently all costs in VOM" - i.e. these costs are missing * Variable opex includes "Processing + storage + road transport of input to site and onward transport of refined product to consumer" - i.e. these costs shouldn't be included User: Richard Taylor Signed off by: Signed off at: Cost category: Biomass conversion dry biomass, biocrops and waste to solid cost data Cost source: Redpoint Best Use of Biomass (2011) cost source Valid for quantity of fuel: Valid in year: 2011 Efficiency: 92% Life: 10 years Size: 40000kW Fuel: Operating: £(2010)2.7-2.9/MWh Capital: £(2010)1/kW Default fuel unit: Default operating unit: £(2010)/MWh Default capital unit: £(2010)/MWh Label: Chipping Output: 100% |
