Title: Redpoint Best Use of Biomass (2011) Macro Algae

Content: This study assumes that unlimited volumes of algae are available at the DECC - EMR baseline central fuel price, which is given as £(2010)28/MWh in 2050.

The cost per MWh has been converted to cost per tonne using the 3.9 TWh/Mtonne energy content assumption used in the 2050 pathways model.

Title: Redpoint Best Use of Biomass (2011) Macro Algae

Content: The underlying source is reported as E4tech (2009) Biomass supply curves for the UK for DECC and gives £(2010)50/MWh 2011-2050.

The cost per MWh has been converted to cost per tonne using the 3.9 TWh/Mtonne energy content assumption used in the 2050 pathways model.

h1 Concerns

The underlying E4tech report has this listed as an import so may not be appropriate to consider it as a macro algae cost.
